Endorsement from Douglas G. Carter

To the Residents of Hancock County, Indiana:

As the 2026 election cycle is quickly approaching, I hope you will consider supporting John Jester as the next Sheriff of Hancock County. I have personally known John for more than 30 years and have always admired his commitment, dedication and service to all Hancock County residents.

John is a lifelong resident of Greenfield and has also raised his own family right here. After serving 24 years with the Greenfield Police Department, he retired as the Chief of Police. John was fortunate to have served in every rank within the police department over the course of his career which makes him uniquely qualified to lead another police agency. John served as your elected Coroner and currently serves the Greenfield City Council as the elected President.

There has never been a more important time to participate in the electoral process to ensure your voice is heard. If you are expecting your local Sheriff to be selfless, transparent, committed and fair then John Jester should be strongly considered. Having served as the elected Sheriff of Hamilton County for 8 years and 30 years of service to the Indiana State Police, with 12 of those years as the Superintendent, I do not take a personal endorsement lightly. I believe in John Jester because of his previous service, his strong character and his selfless dedication to others – not himself!

If you expect honesty, integrity and accountability in your Sheriff’s Office, I hope you will stand with me in support of John Jester as the next Sheriff of Hancock County.

Wishing you all peace,

Douglas G. Carter, Superintendent (Ret)
Indiana State Police
