In addition to our long-standing friendship, I had the privilege of coaching John’s sons, Josh and Jordy, in high school wrestling. Through that experience, I saw firsthand the values John instilled in his family—discipline, accountability, respect, and perseverance. These are not only the values of a devoted parent, but also the qualities of a strong and principled leader.

John’s professional experience further reinforces those qualities. As the former Chief of Police in Greenfield, Indiana, he demonstrated steady leadership, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of the responsibilities entrusted to law enforcement. He understands that effective policing is built on integrity, professionalism, and trust between law enforcement and the community it serves. His leadership reflected a balance of firmness, fairness, and compassion.
John believes in doing things the right way, even when it is difficult. He leads with integrity, values accountability, and understands the importance of transparency and collaboration. These traits, combined with his experience and dedication to public safety, make him exceptionally well-qualified to serve as Sheriff.
